Regional Organizations
The LMMA Network is a group of practitioners involved in various marine conservation projects around the globe who have joined together to increase the success of their efforts. The LMMA Network is learning network; participating projects use a common strategy and work together to achieve goals. The Network is interested in learning under what conditions using an LMMA strategy works, doesn’t work, and why. Network members share knowledge, skills, resources and information in order to collectively learn how to improve marine management activities and increase conservation impact. More >
PINA is a media association. In 2004, the Pacific Islands News Association and the Pacific Islands Broadcasting Association (PIBA) merged. The regional news service PacNews under PIBA will continue to run under PINA. More >
The Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation was set up to harness resources across the Region for conservation and sustainable resource. Launched in 1998, the Roundtable is the only forum where major regional players, including more than fifteen regional and international conservation organizations and donor agencies, meet to develop new ways of addressing the main conservation issues now facing the Pacific islands. It has the official endorsement of all the Pacific island governments and representatives from local and national Pacific island groups. More >

WWF's ultimate goal is to stop and eventually reverse environmental degradation and to build a future where people live in harmony with nature. Seaweb works specifically with WWF’s Fiji Islands Marine Ecoregion and Bismarck-Solomen Seas Ecoregion programs. More >

An initiative of WWF, FLMMA works to develop ties between NGO’s and government agencies to better manage and protect marine areas. More >
Papua New Guinea
The media council represents the media interests of PNG. Objectives include strengthening and supporting the industry, protecting the media from government intervention, providing training, and to fulfilling the media’s social obligations, such as fighting high level corruption. More >
This network was created in 2000 for people involved in marine conservation efforts in Papua New Guinea. A listserv serves as the forum for discussion of marine conservation issues in PNG. More >
