SeaWeb’s second annual Ocean Journalism Awards seeks to honor reporters in Fiji who have excelled at elevating the discussion of marine issues that impact the economic, social and cultural health of the country.
Since 2006, SeaWeb has operated a six-month media fellowship called Sea Series, which connects journalists with ocean experts, policy makers and communities involved with marine conservation issues. As a result, ocean news coverage has steadily increased in both quality and quantity in Fiji. The Awards recognize Fiji’s current commitment and level of excellence in ocean journalism.
