Seafood Choices Talking Sustainability in China

Philip Chou in ChinaSeaWeb’s Melanie Siggs, Vice President of Sustainable Markets, and Philip Chou, Outreach Manger for SeaWeb's Seafood Choices Program, are attending the international 15th Annual China Fisheries and Seafood Expo in Dalian, China, and participating in the second Sustainable Seafood Forum to be held at the Expo. The one-day forum invites the Chinese delegates to share information about, and discuss global thinking on, seafood sustainability

Melanie Siggs joins the seminar following two weeks in China and Hong Kong, where she met representatives from the regional seafood industries and learning more about the challenges and opportunities of China’s seafood industry. At the seminar she will moderate a panel entitled "How Sustainable is Chinese Seafood? China's Attitude Towards Seafood Sustainability."

SeaWeb will also be co-hosting a booth in the Sustainable Seafood Pavilion on the exhibition hall of the Expo. The Pavilion is a dedicated area for environmental organizations focusing on sustainable seafood issues and is designed to encourage industry representatives to have a place to chat about global sustainability views and initiatives while at the Expo. Partners in the Pavilion include DetNorske Veritas (DNV), GlobalGAP, Marine Stewardship Council, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership and WWF.
