The PISCES Stakeholder Group
The PISCES project has a core group of 27 stakeholders from England, France, Ireland, Spain and Wales, representing a diverse range of activities that occur in the Celtic Sea. Additional stakeholders are being recruited to ensure a well balanced representation of interests. These stakeholders represent the following sectors: offshore energy, offshore infrastructure, fishing, mariculture, shipping, ports, coastal tourism and recreation, and aggregates.
Participant stakeholders serve as ambassadors for their sector, communicating news, updates and outcomes of the project as well as the final guidelines to stakeholders in their respective sectors. Participants have the opportunity to represent stakeholder interests and help shape marine policy in the Celtic Sea while also creating a model for how similar management processes can be applied in other regions of the European Union as well as the rest of the world. Stakeholders are also gaining valuable exposure to likely legislative requirements concerning the ecosystem-based approach to management in the European Union, giving them insight on how their activities can adapt to meet these changes in the future.
