The LMMA Network is a group of practitioners involved in various marine conservation projects around the globe that have joined together to increase the success of their efforts. The LMMA Network is learning network; participating projects use a common strategy and work together to achieve goals. The Network is interested in learning under what conditions using an LMMA strategy works, doesn't work, and why. Network members share knowledge, skills, resources and information in order to collectively learn how to improve marine management activities and increase conservation impact. More >>
In 2004, the media associations PINA and the Pacific Islands Broadcasting Association (PIBA) merged. The regional news service PacNews, under PIBA, will continue to run under PINA. More >>
The Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation was set up to promote stronger collaboration and coordination of conservation initiatives and activities. Launched in 1997, the Roundtable is the only forum where major regional players, including more than 15 regional and international conservation organizations and donor agencies, meet to develop new ways of addressing the main conservation issues the Pacific islands now face. This forum has the official endorsement of all the Pacific island governments and representatives from local and national Pacific island groups. More >>
