SeaWeb's Asia Pacific Program conveys unique methods and tools to help community leaders, conservation professionals, academics and resource managers raise awareness of critical ocean issues and inspire action on behalf of the ocean. Our intensive group workshops and one-on-one sessions are designed to empower our Asia Pacific partners to cut through the jargon and better engage stakeholders, policymakers and donors with targeted messages of ocean conservation.

Asia Pacific program communications workshops teach local journalism students interviewing techniques. AP Program |
For conservation professionals, academics and resource managers, we offer workshop participants instruction in strategic communications and social marketing techniques as well as help using these tools to advance their ocean conservation goals. We offer traditional chiefs and other community leaders communications workshops to help them better engage their communities, government leaders, donors and the media.
Given the power the media has in reaching target audiences and building momentum for change, we also specialize in media workshops. These sessions help scientists, resource managers and community leaders learn skills such as how to hone a story pitch or press release, how to approach a media outlet and how to handle media interviews and appearances. On request, we also offer workshops on creating content for print, radio or television. We can provide you all the tools you need to build an effective media campaign.
To further this work over the long term, we partner with regional universities to build communications programs that empower the next generation of journalists and conservation professionals to better advance ocean issues.
